INITIAL DRIVER RISK ASSESSMENT

 Typically Consisting of:

Our trainers use the Roadcraft system for assessment purposes.  The assessment drive will take in a variety of road types, speed limits, and opportunities to assess the drivers awareness and planning skills.  The benefit of one-to-one assessments is that the candidates benefit from advice and training tips given by the trainer, which they are then encouraged to work on to improve their skills further.

At the end of the assessment the driver will then be graded as Low, Medium or High risk. 

LOW RISK  Is at a standard that would pass a DSA learner driver practical test, with no serious or dangerous driving faults and a maximum of 8 minor driving faults. 

MEDIUM RISK  Falls below the standard that would be required to pass a DSA learner driver practical test, with more than 12 minor driving faults, and/or any serious or dangerous driving faults. 

HIGH RISK  Possesses serious danger to self and other road users.  Driving responsibilities should be reduced wherever possible until further training has taken place.
